Christmas Unwrapped: Why I No Longer Celebrate Christmas

To the average person, not much thought is given into why they do what they do, or why they believe what they believe. Most just go with the ebb and flow of society and culture, not questioning the traditions that they uphold.

The moment we begin to question something, we are confronted with two possible outcomes. One, if the information goes against everything that we were taught to believe was true, we set our hearts and minds to accept it and not to continue on in a lie. Two, if the information goes against everything that we were taught to believe was true, we set our hearts and minds to reject it, and continue on in a lie. To question why, and then act upon the outcome of that answer in the light of the truth, takes a great amount of fortitude and meekness. As followers of Christ, we are to uphold the truth, even if that makes us uncomfortable, and even if that means losing friends and family. This is the cost of following Yeshua/Jesus. This is what it means to worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. (Joh 4:23-24)

Under Every Green Tree

Trees and groves have been objects of worship through many centuries and many cultures. It has been believed that trees contain sacred energy and represented gods and goddesses of pagan religions. Many of the winter solstice celebrations such as Mithra, Yalda, Yule, Saturnalia, Christmas and Hanukkah all have similar practices and traditions involving a tree.
