Offense: The Bait of Satan

Matthew 24:10And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.(KJV)

The word offended is derived from a Greek word skandalon:

1.) 4625 skándalon – properly, the trigger of a trap (the mechanism closing a trap down on the unsuspecting victim); (figuratively) an offense, putting a negative cause-and-effect relationship into motion.

2.) 4625 /skándalon (“the means of stumbling”) stresses the method (means) of entrapment, i.e. how someone is caught by their own devices (like their personal bias, carnal thinking).

3.) [“4625 (skándalon) is the native rock rising up through the earth, which trips up the traveler, hence, of Jesus the Messiah, to the Jews who refused him” (Souter); “properly, the bait-stick of a trap, a snare, stumbling-block” (Abbott-Smith); “the stick in the trap that springs and closes the trap when the animal touches it” (WP, 1, 46).] https://biblehub.com/greek/4625.htm

In Their Generation

Was Yeshua/Jesus lying when He said this?:
 

Mark 9:1Then Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, THERE ARE SOME STANDING HERE WHO WILL NOT TASTE DEATH UNTIL THEY SEE THE KINGDOM OF GOD ARRIVE WITH POWER.”

Who was He talking to? (I answer below)

I am not usually too big on commentaries, however will read them from time to time through Bible hub, as further insight and confirmation to what the Spirit has shown me. In such, I am in agreement with Ellicott’s Commentary for English Readers, from Matthew 16:28, (which is a cross reference to Mark 9:1):

“The solution of the problem is to be found in the great prophecy of Matthew 24. In a sense which was real, though partial, the judgment which fell upon the Jewish Church, the destruction of the Holy City and the Temple, the onward march of the Church of Christ, was as the coming of the Son of Man in His kingdom. His people felt that He was not far off from every one of them. He had come to them in “spirit and in power,” and that advent was at once the earnest and the foreshadowing of the “great far-off event,” the day and hour of which were hidden from the angels of God, and even from the Son of Man Himself (Mark 13:32). The words find their parallel in those that declared that “This generation shall not pass away till all be fulfilled” (Matthew 24:34).”

Yeshua/Jesus told His disciples this, and told them in their generation. That was the first century.

Baptism of Fire and the Gift of Tongues-My Testimony

The gift of speaking in tongues is very real, just like all other gifts of the Spirit, and brings edification not only to the individual, but others within the Body of Messiah. I find it to be a wonderful gift, especially during times of difficulty, as well as a powerful weapon within spiritual warfare.

Many of those who do not understand this gift,  often bash, ridicule, or simply don’t believe in the gifts of the Spirit.   Their mind tries to understand something that has to be reconciled with the heart, and revealed through the Spirit. Then there are others who have this gift, and then yet, condemn others who do not, saying it is a sign of their salvation. This is false, and again, another matter of the heart.

There is indeed a demonic version, that is also manifested in other religions, as satan enjoys to take what is holy and pure, and twist and distort it. This also is manifested within many churches and because of this many are ignorant to the true gift.

I hope all who are seeking, find this to be a blessing for their weary heart, as often times my heart was and can be so burdened, that my own earthly language could not express the depths of my soul.  Being able to pray as the Spirit gives you utterance, is wonderful rest for a weary heart and essential during tumultuous times.  May this glorify our God and Saviour Yeshua/Jesus. Hanukkah: Saturn Worship, gambling and the Dreidel

In a previous post I wrote, Purim Unmasked, I mentioned that we attended a Messianic congregation for a year starting in 2015. In that year we were introduced to not only to Purim, but also Hanukkah.  In lieu of Hanukah, I find that people will forsake one aspect of something, only to accept it again through a different veneer.  Many, giving up their Christmas traditions to then embrace them again through Hanukkah.

As I have previously stated, if traditions are rooted in paganism, or doctrines of men, then they should be forsaken. These are not my rules, but Yah’s.

Deuteronomy 12:30…Do not inquire about their gods, asking, “How do these nations serve their gods? I will do likewise.” 31You must not worship the LORD(YHWH) your God in this way, because they practice for their gods every abomination which the LORD(YHWH) hates. They even burn their sons and daughters in the fire as sacrifices to their gods.(BSB)

So, what traditions are associated with this festival, are they approved by Yah, or are they repackaged traditions from the pagan festival Saturnalia?

Lunatic, Epilepsy and the Deaf and Dumb Spirit

Did you know where the term lunatic comes from?

The word “luna”  means moon, and why we call our moon cycle the lunar cycle. A lunatic was referred to as someone ‘being controlled by the moon’, and brought about manifestations of convulsive attacks and seizures.  In the scriptures we see the term  lunatic, and it is interchangeable with epilepsy.

The Holy Spirit=Spirit of Father and Son

Col 2:9FOR IN HIM DWELLETH ALL THE FULNESS OF THE GODHEAD BODILY.(KJV)

This passage implies that the fullness of the Godhead is expressed through Yeshua/Jesus.  Which means that Father, Son, Spirit are expressed through the physical (bodily)image of Yeshua.  So when we see Yeshua/Jesus we see: Father, Son, Spirit.

“Veiled in flesh the Godhead see;
Hail th’incarnate Deity,
Pleased with us in flesh to dwell,
Jesus our Emmanuel.”

A Pure Language that Comes from a Pure Heart

Zephaniah 3:9For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the Lord, to serve him with one consent.(KJV)

Many have said that the above passage has to do with the restoration of the Hebrew language.  Is this true?  Does this passage have anything to do with Hebrew, or any earthly language? Or does it rather show that this is fulfilled through Messiah and His cleansing blood?  For it is only through a purified heart, that we may call upon Him, in a purified tongue, and serve Him together in Spirit and truth.
