Gen 3: 6And the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, and she took of its fruit and ate. And she also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.
Many, while believing that the food they are partaking in is good and seems pleasant to the eyes, is actually instead rotten to the core and infested with the eggs of flies. Those who are wise in their own eyes, and seek after gnosis (‘knowledge’), free-fully and willfully bite off more than they can chew, as the food they lust after fulfills the hunger within them. They in turn will be led down a path of destruction:
2 Cor 11:3But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
Once that taste stays in someone’s mouth and they partake, the eggs are laid and it becomes an infestation of maggots, and those maggots feed off the flesh of the dead. 
A living corpse walking among us, thinking they are of us, but they are spiritually dead and decaying.
Isa 66:24“And they shall go forth and look upon the corpses of the men who have transgressed against Me. FOR THEIR WORM SHAL NOT DIE, and their fire not be quenched. And they shall be repulsive to all flesh!”
Are we looking upon the corpses of men and women who profess to be believers, but yet are being consumed by maggots?
Yeshua/Jesus spoke of this same passage in Mark 9:44,46,48, and refers to a method of garbage disposal to emphasize the consequence of unrepentant sin.
Mark 9:43“And if your hand makes you stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life crippled, than having two hands, to go into Gehenna, into the unquenchable fire,
44where ‘their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.’
45“And if your foot makes you stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life crippled, than having two feet, to be thrown into Gehenna, into the unquenchable fire,
46where ‘their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.’
47“And if your eye makes you stumble, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter into the reign of Elohim with one eye, than having two eyes, to be thrown into the fire of Gehenna,
48where ‘their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.’
Gehenna, or the valley of Hinnom, is located outside Jerusalem, outside the city gates. Trash, animal carcasses, and the dead bodies of despised criminals were thrown there to be destroyed by the fires that burned perpetually on the valley floor to fully consume all things dumped there. Brimstone used to be added to fuel the incineration. It ensured total destruction. If some animal or vegetable matter fell on the slopes of the valley escaping the fire, it would instead be devoured by maggots.
If worms that infest a dead body are not killed, the rotting flesh will be consumed until none remains. Maggots, being larval flies, go through a process known as pupation and turn into adult flies. These in turn, deposit additional eggs and the process is repeated until nothing is left for the maggots to feed on.
Likewise, a person who is unrepentant in sin, the person becomes dead in sin, and if unrepentance continues the body will continue to be infested by maggots and the body, soul and spirit will be completely defiled. They become dead, although they believe that they are living. They become a stench, as a rotting corpse, as they rot away in curses, and eventually will be destroyed.
Ecc 10:1DEAD FLIES CAUSE THE OINTMENT OF THE APOTHECARY TO SEND FORTH A STINKING SAVOUR: so doth a little folly him that is in reputation for wisdom and honour. 2A wise man’s heart is at his right hand; but a fool’s heart at his left. 3Yea also, when he that is a fool walketh by the way, his wisdom faileth him, and he saith to every one that he is a fool.
Who is the ‘Lord of the flies’…None other than Beelzelbub, or Satan Himself. He is the one who tempts, who seduces into partaking of what he has. His food is defiled, but has a way of making it look ‘pleasant’. Flies congregate around the corpses of the dead, and spread disease to the living. Why do you think we are to not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, or those who once were a brother or sister in Messiah, but are in sin, and are to be cast out? (2 Cor 6:14, 1 Cor 5:13, Deut 13:5, Deut 17:7) Because, my friend, disease spreads. A little leaven leavens a whole lump.
The fly can also bite, placing a numbing agent around the skin, while it feasts, and the victim is unaware of what is happening. Those who succumb to the bite, will become poisoned, while digging their own grave, and shall fall, a great fall.
Ecc 10:8He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him.
This is Yah’s righteous judgement being poured out on those who are prideful, haughty, lack self control/self discipline and seek after ‘knowledge’. They want the bread that satisfies the lust of the flesh, the desire of the eyes, and the pride of life (Three temptations of sin 1John2:16), just like with Eve, believing it will bring them life, and knowledge, but is a curse that leads to death. It is the plague of the flies, that come into the houses and dwell. If you let a fly dwell long enough in your house, it will breed, and your house will be consumed.(Ex 8:21) Where a fly is, eggs and maggots are soon to follow.
•Isa 7:18And it shall be in that day that יהוה WHISTLES FOR THE FLY that is in the farthest part of the rivers of Mitsrayim, and for the bee that is in the land of Ashshur. 19And they shall come, and all of them shall rest in the steep ravines and in the clefts of the rocks, and on all weeds and in all pastures.
•Isa 14:11‘Your arrogance has been brought down to the grave, and the sound of your stringed instruments; THE MAGGOT IS SPREAD UNDER YOU, AND WORMS COVER YOU.’
•Acts 12:23And instantly a messenger of יהוה smote him, because he did not give the esteem to Elohim. AND BECOMING WORM-EATEN, HE DIED.
