A Little Clear Up On Romans 11

There is a very big misunderstanding on not only Romans 11, but also that those who deny that Jesus is YHWH(LORD)/God are not our brothers and sisters, regardless if they profess to be Jewish, Muslim, Jehovah witness, Mormon, etc. Those who are in Judaism, just like those who are Muslim, do not serve the same God, and the Scriptures make this clear(1 Joh 2:22-23).
 
Paul wrote the book of Romans between 56-57AD (this was the 1st Century), and the two Israel’s he was talking about were ethnic Israel after the flesh(Ishmael) and spiritual Israel(Isaac). Paul was not initially writing to people in the 20th or 21st century, or concerning a physical nation called Israel that came about in 1948. (Please read “A Tale of Two Israel’s Part 1“ and Part 2 if you would like more insight and clarity pertaining to this)
 
Yeshua/Jesus was ALWAYS the FULFILLMENT of TRUE ISRAEL, and thus those grafted into Him are grafted into Israel of the SPIRIT. This is why we become “One Flesh” when we enter into covenant with Him(Eph 5:30), and become Israel.

Ex 4:22And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD(YHWH), ISRAEL IS MY SON, EVEN MY FIRSTBORN: 23And I say unto thee, Let my son go, that he may serve me: and if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay thy son, even thy firstborn.(KJV)
 
Israel is often depicted as of a physical nation that came about in 1948. However, the Scriptures paint a VERY DIFFERENT picture. Everything in the Torah and the Prophets pointed to Yeshua/Jesus, even the very depiction of Israel:
 
Hosea 11:1WHEN ISRAEL WAS A CHILD, then I loved him, AND CALLED MY SON out of Egypt.(KJV)
 
From a shadow to a substance:
 
Mat 2:13And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.
 
14When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, AND DEPARTED INTO EGYPT: 15AND WAS THERE UNTIL THE DEATH OF HEROD: THAT MIGHT BE FULFILLED WHICH WAS SPOKEN OF THE LORD(YHWH) BY THE PROPHET SAYING, OUT OF EGYPT HAVE I CALLED MY SON. (KJV)
 
Israel is the Messiah…the Body of Messiah…so when we are grafted into Him, we are grafted into Israel. The only way for a person to be a part of Israel, is through the only valid covenant in operation which is the New Covenant through faith, and repentance in Yeshua/Jesus.
 
He is the vine, and we are the branches…He is the Root…

ROMANS 11:

16Now if the **FIRST-FRUIT** is set-apart, the lump is also. And if the **ROOT** is set-apart, so are the **BRANCHES**.

  • FIRST FRUIT:

1 Cor 15:20But now Messiah has been raised from the dead, and has BECOME THE FIRST-FRUIT of those having fallen asleep.

  • BRANCHES:

John 15:5“I am the vine, YOU ARE THE BRANCHES. He who stays in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit. Because without Me you are able to do naught!

  • THE ROOT:

Rev 22:16I, Yeshua, have sent my Angel to testify these things among you before the assemblies. I AM THE LIVING GOD, THE ROOT and The Offspring of David, and his Companion, and The Bright Morning Star.”

17And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, have been grafted in among them, and came to share the root and fatness of the olive tree, 18do not boast against the branches. And if you boast, remember: you do not bear the root, but the **ROOT** bears you!

  • THE ROOT:

Rev 22:16I, Yeshua, have sent my Angel to testify these things among you before the assemblies. I AM THE LIVING GOD, THE ROOT and The Offspring of David, and his Companion, and The Bright Morning Star.”

19You shall say then, “The branches were broken off that I might be grafted in.”20Good! By unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by belief. Do not be arrogant, but fear.21For if Elohim did not spare the natural branches, He might not spare you either. 22See then the kindness and sharpness of Elohim: on those who fell sharpness, but toward you kindness, if you continue in His kindness, OTHERWISE YOU SHALL ALSO BE CUT OFF.(ISR 98)

The “Natural Branches” were ethnic Israel/Ishmael, and the only way that they could enter  back into Covenant with the Father again, was through the Son, THROUGH BELIEF.  Just as the House of Israel was divorced, and could not enter back into covenant until the New Covenant, likewise the House of Judah could only enter back into covenant if they had faith in Messiah through the New Covenant.  Israel(after the flesh) wrath came in 70AD, and were fully laid waste. So, again, Paul is not talking about a people and a nation that was created in 1948 as the “Natural Branches”.

This is also a warning to those who do not continue to abide in Yeshua/Jesus, falling away in unbelief, will also be cut off.

John 15:2“EVERY BRANCH IN ME THAT BEARS NO FRUIT HE TAKES AWAY. And every branch that bears fruit He prunes, so that it bears more fruit. 3“You are already clean because of the Word which I have spoken to you. 4“Stay in Me, and I stay in you. AS THE BRANCH IS UNABLE TO BEAR FRUIT OF ITSELF, UNLESS IT STAYS ON THE VINE, so neither you, unless you stay in Me.

5“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who stays in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit. Because without Me you are able to do naught! 6“IF ANYONE DOES NOT STAY IN ME, HE IS THROWN AWAY AS A BRANCH AND DRIES UP. AND THEY GATHER THEM AND THROW THEM INTO THE FIRE TO BE BURNED.

Israel after the flesh(Ishmael)/The House of Judah was destroyed in 70AD. THEY WERE BROUGHT TO AN END.
 
♦Matthew 21:41″He will bring those wretches to a wretched end,” they declared, “and will rent out the vineyard to other tenants who will give him his fruits in their seasons.”
 
♦Matthew 23:38LOOK, YOUR HOUSE IS LEFT TO YOU DESOLATE.
(The next chapter Yeshua/Jesus foretells the DESTRUCTION of the TEMPLE and of Israel)
 
♦Matthew 24:2And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

Flesh and blood DO NOT INHERIT the Kingdom. Physical blood lines do not matter, as the BIRTHRIGHT is SPIRITUAL. Earlier in Chapter 9 Paul writes this:

Rom 9:6Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. FOR THEY ARE NOT ALL ISRAEL, WHICH ARE ISRAEL:  7Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: BUT IN ISAAC SHALL THY SEED BE CALLED. 8THAT IS, THEY WHICH ARE THE CHILDREN OF THE FLESH(ETHNIC/PHYSICAL) THESE ARE NOT THE CHILDREN OF GOD: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. 9For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son.

Paul is speaking that only those who have been BORN of the PROMISE, the SPIRITUAL SEED are the children of God. NOT THOSE OF PHYSICAL DECENT.  This is WHY Yeshua stated that one must be “Born again” of the Spirit(Joh 3:5). ROMANS 11:
 
25I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you will not be conceited: A hardening in part has come to Israel, until the full number of the Gentiles(Nations) has come in.
 
——>This already took place…through the SEED-> Messiah:
 
Gen 48:19But his father refused and said, “I know, my son, I know. He also becomes a people, and he also is great. And yet, his younger brother is greater than he, and his SEED is to BECOME THE COMPLETENESS OF THE NATIONS.”
 
This is why Paul went first to the Jew(House of Judah)/Israel and then to the nations-Acts 18:6, Acts 13:46. A hardening came upon the House of Judah, so that Paul then WENT TO THE NATIONS.
 
Acts 13:45But when the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy, and they blasphemously contradicted what Paul was saying. 46Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly: “It was necessary to speak the word of God to you first. BUT SINCE YOU REJECT IT AND DO NOT CONSIDER YOURSELVES WORTHY OF ETERNAL LIFE, WE NOW TURN TO THE GENTILES.(BSB)
 
26And so all Israel (those in the New Covenant/grafted into Messiah) WILL BE SAVED, as it is written: “The Deliverer will come from Zion, He will remove godlessness from Jacob. 27AND THIS IS MY COVENANT WITH THEM, WHEN I TAKE AWAY THEIR SINS.”
 

That is why is followed up in verse 26/27 above, as The Deliverer DID come out of Zion, and ESTABLISHED A NEW COVENANT….TO TAKE AWAY SINS! And all those who ABIDE IN HIM SHALL BE SAVED.

Matthew 26:28THIS IS MY BLOOD OF THE COVENANT, WHICH IS POURED OUT FOR MANY FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS.
